David comes to SUPERNAP International with a wealth of global experience managing sales to the world’s top cloud companies, banks, telecommunications and IT companies as Vice President with Schneider Electric, Global Sales. David has extensive management, consulting and technology experience, with over 30 years of real-world experience in IT as a previous CIO and is well respected as an industry thought leader.
David commenced his career in Telstra Australia and progressed within 12 years from Trainee Computer Operator to becoming the National Computing Operations Manager, managing and building Australia’s largest telco and computer facilities. David then joined Optus Communications (Singtel Optus) when the industry was deregulated leading the telecommunications company as General Manager, IT Operations in a highly outsourced environment managing large scale contracts and international vendors. This led to the creation of Optus Vision, a cable TV and broadband provider and David led the very fast development of the IT infrastructure and IT Operations in a national roll out.
Looking for new challenges, David then joined Tech Pacific, Asia Pacific, the leading IT distribution company in Asia, as IT Director providing him with international and Asia Pacific experience, totally rebuilding all infrastructure facilities and IT operations models across the region.
In the late 1990s, David joined two other CIOs to form their own company, New Tradition Technologies, to bring their experience to other organizations providing IT business consulting, data center design and build program management and ITIL service management specialists implementing and supporting companies like Vodafone, Sony, Singtel Optus, Orange, Unisys, Fujitsu and many more large international players running large scale business transformational projects in Asia.
David then decided to transition his career to the energy industry (power and cooling industry) and joined American Power Conversion (APC) as Data Center Advisor and senior leadership executive. This role included leading the transformation from product supplier to solution provider, even taking the business through to becoming the largest turn-key design and build company across Asia Pacific. APC was acquired by Schneider Electric and David was quickly given additional responsibilities as Vice President leading all the global account sales and key projects while still developing the overall data center business. He and his team were instrumental in helping Schneider Electric to become the number one data center vendor in the world. Today, David brings his wealth of experience to SUPERNAP International and its customers.
David drives all Sales and Marketing business for SUPERNAP International and the development of all methodologies, value propositions and global sales. His objective is for all country operations to be effective market leaders bringing consistent value to our customers. He will be the key note speaker promoting and building the brand of SUPERNAP International across the industry. As a key member of the executive team, David will drive business strategies and lead the implementation.
